About the PMCC Program

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification for the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC)

The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) is a nationally accredited program that teaches medical coding. SCS offers a hybrid PMCC course which positions students to test for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC.) The CPC credential speaks for the individual’s in-depth knowledge of medical coding concepts and processes, a great asset for consideration for administrative employment, career growth and job security within the business sector of the health care industry. The PMCC course is 60 hours in class plus a series of online exercises. Major advantages of the program:

  • Online work at your own pace interleaved with convenient classroom sessions
  • Continuous interaction with instructor during and between classes as needed
  • Supplementary learning module available for students with no related experience so their average time from program completion and certification to job placement can be accelerated and their knowledge base greatly enhanced
