Ken Camilleis (pronounced cuh-MILL-ee-iss) brings to the table 28 years of continuous experience in health care administrative services. Ken was a senior manager for an independent medical billing service owned and operated within his family. Since 2006 he has focused on medical coding largely from an educational perspective and has taught coding at career schools around Massachusetts.
Mr. Camilleis currently holds certifications from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Medical Billing Association (AMBA). He is a member of the Cape Coders, the Cape Cod chapter of the AAPC, and since 2009 he has been an ongoing contributor to Coding Edge/Cutting Edge/Healthcare Business Monthly. He has written articles on coding education, coding guidelines, clinical documentation requirements, immunization administrations, skin surgery coding, fracture and bone density coding as well as other orthopedic topics. Ken was an Education Officer and New Member Development officer for his chapter. Ken participated in an ICD-10 Project Development Committee through AHIMA and subsequently pursued and developed ICD-10 education programs including Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) projects.
Marita Cable-Camilleis has worked with her husband Ken Camilleis for many years in the business sector of healthcare. Marita and Ken co-managed the billing function for an independent medical billing service owned and operated within the family. Marita holds and maintains the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She is a member of the Cape Coders, the Cape Cod chapter of the AAPC, and is also an active member of the Cape Cod Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America, for which she has written articles related to medical coding for a variety of auditory system diseases and procedures. She has also taught medical billing courses at two vocational schools. Marita is the Secretary and Treasurer for SCS.
